What is khudunabari camp?

Khudunabari camp is a refugee camp located in Nepal. It was established in 1992 to provide temporary shelter and support to Bhutanese refugees who were forced to flee their homes due to ethnic tensions and political persecution in Bhutan. The camp is located in the Jhapa district of Nepal and is one of the largest refugee camps in the country. At its peak, khudunabari camp housed over 17,000 refugees. The majority of the residents are ethnic Nepali from Bhutan, and they have been living in the camp for more than two decades. Over the years, various international organizations, including the UNHCR, have provided support and aid to the refugees in the camp. In recent years, many of the residents of khudunabari have been resettled in other countries, including the United States. However, there are still thousands of refugees who continue to live in the camp and rely on aid from international organizations for their basic needs.
